Well, you found me!
I decided to start blogging about my adventures in going vegetarian/vegan after Gastric Bypass surgery. I have had a very smooth recovery, but I’m starting to see that meat and I are no long BFFs. It’s not that I don’t like the taste of meat, or that I’m trying to save animals. Rather, it has more to do with what I can tolerate as a post-operative GBS patient. Currently, I have few intolerances, but meat is a big one. I’m having a hard time with beef and poultry, which is pretty common as a newbie. However, I started thinking, “Can I make the switch to a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle AND still adhere to my nutritional needs as a GBS patient?” I’m going to give it a try! It will be challenging, but I’m willing to put it out there for others to learn from.
